Hit and run involving a passenger immigrant.?
Lets say there's a driver and two people in the back seat. The driver hits a truck in the parking lot, the two people in the back seat get out and walk over a few yards to McDonald's to stop one of the passengers busted lips from bleeding. They remain waiting at McDonald's for someone to pick them up and bring them home. Later, cops gather the back seat passengers info. If one was an immigrant who once had a green card and is waiting for his renewed one to come in, and it didn't come in before the court date, would they get deported or just charged?

I doubt they would be deported, but your story makes it sound as though they left the scene of an accident which is a crime. they would probably be charged and fined for that.

but an out of date green card is not that bad if you have a receipt of renewal
you don't lose your status
