The higher-mind knows what the best decisions are.
But the lower-mind is plagued with laziness, apathy, anger, maybe fear…
How can I overcome my destructive lack of discipline?
I am not taking the actions I KNOW I need to take.
Is it because I am weak?

Short answer? Yes. Long answer? Self discipline is an elusive concept; so elusive it avoids many people for their entire lives! Discipline begins with structure and is continued with commitment. Make a physical daily list of things to accomplish...make it realistic. It is much easier to accomplish a hundred tiny steps than to leap the Great Wall of China. Once you have the structure, commit to it. Physically cross off each item throughout the day as you accomplish them. Each night, see what gone done and what didn't. Transfer the undone things to the next day's list. Take a moment to enjoy your accomplishments and to give yourself a pat on the back. Don't linger...each and every day is just like the first...the difference is it becomes natural and less like work. Remember, you can't get off your butt if you don't stand up.
