I was reading something that said schools can block apps. If you've already downloaded the app then it's on your device's memory and does not have anything to do with being connected to the school, so how can a school block an app?
Also, did I just read it wrong and maybe it meant schools can block Internet connection to an app? Like ifunny, it's an app, but it requires an Internet connection, so can the school just make it so the wi-fi does not connect to that app?

Yes, unless the school has control over your device, they can't block it except for its use of wifi.
Ignore that other man completely........
This is how it works (I know because I go to that school)
On the schools device, they add profiles (google iOS profiles) that disable apps (apps that are 12+ are banned) but on your device: there Internet has a proxy (google it and watch a YouTube video on it) that blocks websites... I know my school Internet blocks youtube... So any YouTube video ANYWERE (like every were) it is blocked (it says "blocked by watch guard") and yeah.... Find a YouTube video about proxys to understand better...........and also the app uses Internet to receive the photos, so it blocks it sence it blocks access to ifunny.
How to get around it: turn off Internet on device, and use your 3G/4G on the device.. It will get around that proxy.
BTW: don't listen to that person 'the man' he is wrong..
Trenton stated one way, and yeah the first guy is misinformed. They can also use something called Open DNS and it can be used to block request to IP address such as www.facebook.com, some form of this is used when blocking websites and it can be used for apps as well if they find out the IP address of the server that the app tries to connect to. But if your app dosen't use the internet then they cant block it. you can use a proxy to get around this though :)
