My earlobes got infected so my doctor prescribed cephalexin on 7/26. I finished them yesterday at 1pm. Is the drug out of my system? I've read it can take up to a week, but other people have said 72 hours, 24 hours, and 8 hours. Which one is it??
Update:Why are some sites saying it lasts longer?

Keflex (cephalexin) is fully excreted from your system (via the kidneys) in under 8 hours.
It is water soluble and flushes out in your urine.
It does not linger in the body at all.

Some sites might say it lasts longer but look at the credibility of those sites.
Medication that is used to treat bacterial infections (such as your earlobes) is usually water soluble. That means the medicine will come out in your pee, and your stools. The more water your drink and the more you urinate, the faster the drug will be out of your system.
