I want to get my cartilage pierced. I have my ear lobes pierced but that was done when i was a few months old so i really don't remember if it was painful or not. So did it hurt when you got yours pierced and if it was pierced with a needle did it hurt?

It doesn't hurt when you get it done , it just hurts after , it stings really bad and your ear turns all red. I suggest when you get home you put some ice on your ear, that's what i did and it made it feel a lot better, if your hair isn't short you will have to keep it up in a pony tail until your ear isn't sensitive anymore because your hair will get caught around the earring. But it looks really good afterward epically if you put a hoop in it and it's so worth it :) I've had mine done scene the summer. Best answer plz?
I got my helix (the outer rim of your ear) pierced like six months ago. For my the piercing its self didn't hurt, but after it was sore for about three months. I wasn't able to sleep on it. Eventually I changed the ring, and the one I have in now is a lot more comfortable. I would give the pain about a 3/10, but I have a very high pain tolerance.
And yes, I got mine pierced with the needle. I have had the gun on my lobes, twice, and the need for my navel and helix. To me, they felt exactly the same.
It doesn't hurt much. I got the helix done, and I barely even felt it go in. After that, it does hurt a little bit though. It's very sore for a few months, and it does hurt to sleep on it. (although after a month for me it stopped hurting) I got mine pierced with a gun, but people tell me a needle hurts less.
My friend said it was very sore.
I have my ear lobes pierced, and it wasn't sore getting them done. It hurt slightly when they went through, but it was very tolerable and I wouldn't go around saying that it was painful because it honestly wasn't. I got mine done witht he gun thing. Because the cartilage is basically bone and hard, it is going to hurt. You're not going to get it done without it hurting. I don't have it pierced myself but my friend has and she said it was really sore.
I'm assuming by cartilage, you mean the top of your ear. If you get it professionally done, it shouldn't hurt too bad. If you get it done at like Claire's or Wal-Mart or some place where they use a gun, yes, it will. Get it done by a professional. They can't sanitize piercing guns properly.
I don't have my cartilage pierced. But I watched my friend get ti done & she said it only hurts when you don't take care of it.
I had mine pierced just before my 15th, and I barely felt it.. it stung for a few minutes after and my ear felt hot. But after then, it was oka just a little bit sore. Sleeping on it feels uncomfortable for the first few weeks though. :)
Nah it's not that painful. For me it didn't even hurt, i would rate it 0 out of 10.. no pain what so ever but i'm pretty good with pain and my friend said hers hurt like hell, we're all different when it comes to pain tolerance.
if i knew how much it hurt, i would of never got it. when i first got it, it hurt as much as a regular peircing but after an hour for 3 weeks straight it killed. it burned, throbbed and stinged. it also makes sleeping and getting dress, things like that un comfortable. when anything touches your ear where the earring is, it kills.
Well, my friend got it and she said it hurt like a b*tch.
She said it was sore for like 2 months, and she keeps telling people not to do it.
