Female mechanic just doesn't happen...no offense to you...that's just the way it works in automotive mechanics. It may be sexism but it also has something to do with weight. Car parts are heavy. You're better off getting an engineering degree at a good college then working in r&d for a manufacturer if you want to work with cars.
You can clear 100k a year, at a dealership, or busy shop..,, but beware,, there's a whole lot of mechanics out there making $20 an hour, more then are making 100k

I would say a regular mechanic starting would be about 15 an hour but body repair and systems technology would definitely be more. maybe 20 is mid 20s

they don,t get payed as much as you think. just because the garage charges you say like 50 dollars an hour, the mechanic don,t get that much.
