It would be impossible to say - by day we live in consciousness where we perceive the world in terms of 24 hours a day. But at night we enter the land of dreams where anything can happen. I often have dreams seemingly go on all night when I'm trying to build something, and I dream of the plan endlessly.
I've heard it said that a dream only takes a split second - but I don't know why anybody would say this or what they'd use as proof of this statement. It's probably just one of those silly things people like to believe for whatever reason.
There is a recent fiction movie “(The Six Degrees of Separation” - I think) that claims how much faster a dream is than real life. I believe they said that it is 39 times faster. But remember – it’s a fictional movie.
you dont have a sense for time during sleep, you could go through days or week in a couple of hours. how can you measure how much faster your mind works?
