I got into an accident where I scratched another car, but that's covered by insurance, no problem.
my car was scratched on the bumper, the fender above my wheel, and my side mirror.
I have a $200 deductible on my insurance.. is that all I pay? I think the damages are more costly than $200, but is that all I will pay to repair the scratches?

if the accident was your fault, then you are laible for the damage to your car. if you have collision coverage insurance on your car then your insurance will cover the damage and you will have only to pay the amount out of pocket that is equal to your deductable. looks like this case, it is 200$, anything above 200 in damages will be paid by your insurance.
now insurance companies eventually cover their cost by raising your rates. if your damage is 300$ then you will pay 200 and them 100, if the damage is 2000, then you pay 200 and they pay 1800. but they will raise your rates by 100 a year if you make a claim. and in subsequent years also. so a small claim may cost you several hundred in deducable, and sever hundred over the next few years in increased rates. you have to decide if it is worth it to you.
