I have a classmate who has been on this diet for a few months. She used be a very muscular gymnast although she quit a few months before this diet but now she's lost all the muscle. Like her legs look like twigs even under her uniform skirt and her collarbone sticks put way too much. I want to study nutrition in college so I understand her desire to only eat good foods. My friend also has celiac disease so I understand that she needs to avoid gluten, but I just don't think that she can do both gluten and vegan. I don't think she gets enough protein, carbohydrates or fat through this diet. I don't know if she eats legumes but I will find out. I'm also concerned because she's been getting sick a lot lately, maybe due to vitamin deficiency.

It does sound like she's not getting enough protein. She might be eating too many processed foods while going gluten free. I'm gluten intolerant myself and I lift heavy weights and I haven't lost any muscle. My favorite recipes are on The Skinny Lab so I have no problem taking in the right nutrients through real natural foods and her recipes are tasty and balanced. Ask your friend to take a look, hope that helps ;)
Suggest her see a nutritionist . Idk how healthy she is, just dont want her to be classified as " anorexic" and have serious health issues (:
