How Were Jewish/Gentile Mixes Looked Upon In Europe?
Has there been any known case of intermingling between jews and europeans during the medieval, renaissance and enlightenment eras? How were their offspring treated?
Of course. One things humans always do when living together in the same area is 'mate'. It happened all the time. Whether their offspring would be Jew or Christian and how they were treated was a case by case basis, ancestry could be hidden, kids adopted, people were more treated by their religion than their ancestry (especially in a time when there was not regular ancestry records) etc. Overtime the Jews in Europe became just as much genetically European as Europeans while retaining some of their original Mideast DNA and Europeans had Jewish DNA from the Mideast added to them.
