Hi i am going to buy a new notebook. I can spend a max of 3000$(incl taxes).I am confused between the HP HDX (with 8800m and core 2 duo processor) and sager np9262(9800m gtx and core 2 quad).
Which one should i buy. I want it to be future proof and powerful.

(using my gfs account here) I just bought my Sager np9262 almost fully decked out.
and I've heard nothing but good reviews on it, hence why i decided to buy it.... maybe a bit to much in the money area ... a hefty sum of 4600 us. ; ; but hey it should last me a very long time.
specs listed below .. a bit different from what your looking at but here it goes. sorry i included prices but im too lazy to take them out.

Concerning the links down below ... the third one is by a laptop owner... closer to what your looking for, and alot of screens shots, inside and outside of the comp. Def. check it out.
Also note: "due to chipset limitations, the system will only recongnize 6.8 gb of mem. ... hope i can change that... to recognize it all. Might be better to get with the 4 gb 2* 2048 might better suite your needs.

I too am in the market for a uber-power notebook that can run 64bit OS (Vista or Linux) to support virtualization (VMware). The Sager NP9262, based on the Clevo D901C chassis, seems to be the most powerful, with Q9550 quad CPU, 8GB RAM, 1.5TB RAID5. I wish it had HDMI and eSATA outputs. Nobody else seems to support more than 4GB RAM.
