(Residential Organisation and Transfer or ROT) is planning to use a new system (Housing Administration Link or HAL) to help them manage their business. This system is used, amongst other things, to capture details of properties being advertised for sale and make them available via a nationwide website. In order for ROT to use HAL, they need to enhance or replace their existing in-house system which is based on simple spreadsheets. HAL offers both a RESTful service and a SOAP service with WSDL but ROT is unsure about which the various technology options and the

implications of the decisions that they will be making.
