There's still time to improve. Composing a clever poem is not the same as constucting sentences, completing arguments and using correct grammar. Spelling, syntax and punctuation follows rules in english, where poetry just needs to create or communicate impressions and feelings. Some popular poets use little or no punctuation. Famous poet, Leroi Jones (Amiri Baraka) used no uppercase letters, abbeviations and slang in his "Dante's System of Hell". It sold quite well. In and english class it should be graded "F". I could go on and on. Make an appointment to talk to your english teacher about your deficiencies and how you can improve for writing. Don't wait until you need to write college compositions and cannot do it, because you refused to learn in high school. By 6th grade a student should be able to write proper english. There are many tears shed over exit exams lately.
okay, so your super creative. thats cool. but are you doing what the teacher ASKS of you?
every assignment has points you have to hit, concepts you have to connect, and information from the curriculum that you have to show the teacher you understand.
just because you are creative at times and use some big long sentences doesn't mean you automatically fulfill the assignments requirements.
