You're not going to overdose on ONE.
Thirty, possibly, but not ONE.
Don't listen to your friend.
ETA: Heart palpitations is when your heart beat is shakey, too fast, or too slow. Anything not normal that is affecting the beat.
Symptoms of an overdose:
- Problems with vital signs (temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure) Vital sign values can be increased, decreased, or completely absent.
- Sleepiness, confusion, or coma.
- Cool and sweaty skin, or it can be hot and dry.
- Chest pain.
- Shortness of breath. Breathing may get rapid, slow, deep, or shallow.
•Abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting.
But remember, you only took ONE, you're just being a bit paranoid. You haven't overdosed. Really.

Well, my mom said that sometimes people can accidentally OD from sleeping pills. Like, if you wake up during the night, and don't remember if you already took a sleeping pill or not, so you take another one to make you sleep, even after already taking them, or taking more of them because they're not working right away, etc. then yeah that can be bad. You'll be fine but just make sure you're taking the right dosage. If the pills make you feel worse, stop taking them.
your friend was wrong. i took those for a really long time, and they're pretty much impossible to overdose on because, a) the dosage is so small, and, b) they aren't like sleeping pills with man-made chemicals in them, they're extracted from a biological chemical that's already in your body. you really have nothing to worry about. yeah, i wouldn't take like 30 tablets at once, but if you take one a night it won't kill you or even come slightly close. don't worry about it.
you only took one..not the whole bottle or a handful...you haven't said anything about heart palpitations or symptoms...
you should definitely stop taking sleeping pills, you're way too young. Getting hooked on barbiturates at thirteen is really gonna f*ck you up.
melatonin is totally tame stuff and you're definitely not gonna OD if you follow the directions and only take 1 like it says. You should definitely tell your parents that you're taking it though and tell your doctor next time you go for a checkup. You shouldn't be taking any medicine without your parents saying its ok.
1 Is not going to make you OD if you take 5 or 6 yea. But one hell no. I don't know anything about the drug but if 1 is the recommended dose your not going to OD.
CHILL OUT! ur not gonna die! just dont get hoocked and ull be fine. i little sleeping pill wont hurt EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE.... like one or twice a week. if you take one pill.. nothing will happen.. except u fall asleep.. take 10 and your in trouble.
cupcake is right, it's a hormone your body is supposed to naturally produce, but sometimes (like in your case perhaps) the body doesn't produce enough. You won't die.
OD comes from longtime use and not using them the way they are meant to be used. Like taking 3 when the box says take one or two.
melatonin is just a hormone. you wont od.
