I have been skipping the same class for about..idk a week! I feel guilty and I think my grades are already going down really low. :| I need help tips on improving myself. My dad is not going to be happy about it either. What can you guys think of to help me improve in my grades?
Update:plus, my teacher is going to ask questions of why I wasn't here for the past week and idk what to tell her. :| Should I just be honest?

Honesty is the best policy. If you are skipping the class because it intimidates you in some way, let your teacher know that, too. If the teacher has a sympathetic streak, this could bring out the best in that teacher's desire to help you. So does saying that you can't believe you did that (skipped) and you want to turn this problem around before it gets any worse, as skipping isn't something you want to get into the habit of doing, that you want to learn to face your problems like an adult.
In other words, talk in the language that a teacher can understand...most teachers will feel like superstars if their students come to THEM for help. They need to feel valuable, too. This could be a win-win for both of you. And if you are reeeeely lucky, you might even avoid any serious consequences for skipping class.
Basically, I've just suggested some ways to improve yourself in the area of relating to your teachers. This is actually good practice for life, because most people like to help people that ask for help. And believe me, everything you get in life comes your way because someone GIVES it to you. They give paychecks, sales, orders, smiles, grades, gifts, promotions, etc. And things are given, usually, because you have given something of value FIRST, like showing up and doing your job, giving a good sales presentation, asking for the order, the first smile or helping hand, hard work on assignments, thoughtfulness, exceeding expectations, stuff like that. Sometimes the thing you give can be as simple as honesty in an increasingly dishonest world.
As for improving your grades, it is hard to know how to advise you without more specifics, but you might need help with the subject itself (look for a tutor, ask your dad to hire one if possible), or with study skills (a tutor or librarian or teacher or one of the many books available on the topic can help with that...tricks like knowing how textbook writers think so you can take good notes).
Sometimes the problem is just self-management. It isn't that you can't do the work, maybe, but that you just feel like the work for that class is too scary in some way. One of the absolute best ways to handle this problem is with a simple kitchen-type timer. Tell yourself that you will work on the dreaded assignment for just 5-15 minutes (you choose a time frame). The first few times can be something as simple as "I will clear my desk or table to work for five minutes." "I'll put my paper, pen, book, laptop, whatever, on the desk/table in five minutes." "I'll turn on the laptop/open the book to the right page in five minutes." "I'll search for articles on my topic for ten minutes." and so on. The idea is to break up any dreaded or boring task into bite sized bits, and feel a sense of accomplishment as each small task is completed. You can (and should) periodically reward yourself. For example, if you have been steadily accomplishing things for thirty or forty five minutes, set the timer and do something that YOU like to do for ten to fifteen minutes. Then get right back to work. The mental break will help you work better and faster, too, in the long run.
Get plenty of sleep at normal hours. Lay our your clothing for the next day each night. Make your bed, keep your room and bathroom stuff tidy. Don't keep too much stuff. Too much stuff = chaos and too much time needed to clean and rearrange your junk. These simple tips REVOLUTIONIZE LIVES. Don't underestimate them.
Keep a calendar that has deadlines for assignments and aim to finish them all in advance of their due date, and ask for help whenever you feel stuck or don't know what to do! Remember, "stuff" happens at the last minute that can throw you off track. It will be like that for the rest of your life, it is a fact of life for everyone. Leave "margins" in your life by getting things done before they are needed/due.
Well, for one, don't skip class. Your whole future, is based on your grades. Bad grades goes to bad job, which equals no money. Here are some tips.
*Pay attention in class. If you get distracted, try your best to get focused. Pay attention to what the teacher is saying.
*If you don't understand, ask the teacher for lunch, and if you can come up for lunch or stay after school. Don't be scared to, that's what teachers are there for.
*When you get home, do what you do, relax, take a shower, whatever. But make sure you do your homework. Start it as soon as you get home, or 2 hours before when you usually go to bed.
*Take notes, ask questions, get involved with schoolwork. You'll understand things better.
*Ask a friend or family member to help you with classwork, and if you don't understand your homework, just ask a mom or dad to help you. If you still don't understand, tell your teacher you didn't understand your assignment the next day,
*If you're not satisfied with a grade, ask your teacher for extra credit.
*(If you can), check your grades online, and keep track of them.
I hope I helped, and good luck in school! If you need any tips/help with anything, e-mail me at [email protected]. :)
Ummm Stop Skippin Class UhhDurrr Lol But Yea Stop Skipping Class Get a Totur, Ask To Copy Notes And Ask The Teacher FOr Help
Honestly nobody cares what you wear, what you look like, or what you do have or not. I believe what matters is that you succeed in school with an average and above. In the long run when you graduate, you'll think it was silly just trying to impress people. As long as you are good with your teacher and your grades, you'll be good in the future. Trust me. I just graduated this May 2011.
go to your teacher after class and say i have been missing school and im wondering if its possible to bring my grade back up at this point or complete my missing assignments...if the answer is no...then make sure your in class from that point on not missing anymore work..if you dont care and truly dont feel like correcting the problem...continue to ditch and dig yourself a hole you wont beable to come out of..all because of laziness... not worth it right??...do good in school..it matters later hun..
( honesty is more respected... tell her you have been stressed or going through a hard time..so you chose not to come to class...now your feeling better and want to continue to move fwd) ;)

The best thing you can do is be honest and speak to the teacher.
Tell him/her the truth and that you feel guilty and you want to make it up. It will show your teacher maturity and I almost guarantee he will help.
let me know what happens and if you need more help [email protected]
don't skip the class!
