I mean for example right now I am rendering a Adobe Premiere project and that is using 100% CPU yet this thing is a fast as could be
CPU 1.8GHz Dual Core 64 Bit (AMD Athlon 64 X2)
OS Windows Vista Home Premium
RAM 2GB
And its a laptop yet gets faster under load go figure
Update:What I mean is that yes I do know about that its usually hovers around 800MHz (I set it too) yet when I have it plugged in it is always at its full speed and I am amazed at how well every AMD I have ever had get so much faster under load (unlike stupid intel which act like they want to blow up under load (desktop and laptops))

Of course it's faster under load. Modern laptop processors are underclocked when they're not being fully used.
