Ever since the weekend I've been ill with the flu. For 3 nights I've been up at night into the early hours, and when I'm like that all I think about is that something is in the room with me and I can't see it. [I have an overactive imagination and I've watched a lot of horror movies and read a lot of stories]. I also have felt cold drafts this week. But my house is quite cold at the moment, as it's winter. I'm just being paranoid aren't I?

Feeling cold drafts is normal with the flu. It's the fever chill cycle. At a certain stage of fever, paranoia can set in as well. Lack of sleep doesn't help that much with that either.
When your body temperature exceeds 103 degrees F, you will have hallucinations especially when the body is at weakest, which will usually be around 3 AM.
If you report to the doctor, along with medicines for fever, you may be given sleeping pills until your flu is over.
