I'm currently in undergrad(2-3 more years left). Dental school is my goal and I'm interested in working a little while in undergrad. I have been searching but it's sort of difficult finding something that's medical related/doesn't interfere with classes.
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas as far as a type of job that's very flexible and will allow me to gain medical experience?
I'm sort of needing to work to assist with apartment costs.
Should I look for jobs outside of the medical field as well?

try and ask for part time jobs. like just weekends - at a reception for example.
you could ask different hospital departments like obs+gyne (i worked in the admin office for obs and gyne when i took a year out). your best bet to get a job is through a family contact
and if you want money, and you have school then your best bet is weekends
finally if you want to strengthen an application then just do unpaid work experience - e.g at a dental practice.
outside medical field jobs can be good to for an application. my friend worked at a funeral office. this is something unusual that stands out when someone reads your application. you can say you showed professionalism and had to show compassion to people who were grieving. so yea something interesting which shows mental strength or certain skills can stand out.
if i was you id think "what do i want to say about myself on my application" - for example if you want to say your a good team player - then start getting experiences which YOU think relate to "team player" - like being in the local football team or whatever.
hope that helps
While I was going for hygiene I worked as an assistant. It was perfect cause as I was working I was gaining experience. Why don't you try for an office? Most will train and tell them your looking to stay in the dental field
Whaaaat? Psychologists make quite a bit! Don't do a job for money, for the reason that either manner you will certainly not believe like you're getting adequate. Then you will are living miserable for the leisure of your existence dreading to go to work every morning.
Don't be afraid to work outside the medical centre, it will not affect your study at all. However if you would like to work in the medical centre ask around to see if there is any little jobs you might be able to do
Knock on dentist's office and hand your resume. I am sure one out of hundreds of dentist's office will respond. You have to put an effort.
This is not the right place to ask this is family and friends
