Hey, Ok so I just signed up for the South Carolina Virtual Charter School (10th grade) that is programmed through K12 and I had a few questions:
1. Do you meet face to face with your teacher a lot?
2. For those of you that have used the k12 system, did you like it? Is it hard?
3. Do I have to do a placement test? If so, is it easy?
4. Is this program, in your opinion, better, worse, or the same as public school?
5. Can you work on your assignments at any point that day? (start late, or get off and get back on throughout the day)
6. I know this is a weird question but...Did people (like your friends) look down on you for leaving public school? (I'm nervous about telling a few of them)
I'd appreciate it if you can answers any or all of these questions.
Thanks!!

okay I am in 10th grade too. last year, for half the year I did k12. I will tell you what I know from my experience.(:
1. I never met face to face with my teachers. once a week there was a class connect and you your teacher and everyone else in that class got together to review. but on field trips and other get together, if they are there then you can meet them.
2. You have to get used to it, and once you do it will be easier. As far as work goes, don't get behind and put your all in with every assignment.
3. just do your best. They just want to know what you already know, so they can place you in the right class.
4. It allows you to work more at your own pace, you still have deadlines for assignments though. You don't have anyone else disrupting your learning. But you don't get to see people and socialize as much.
5. yes, you can work whenever you want to work.
6. Wow, yes they did. well not for leaving public school, they just thought it was weird that I did school online. I don't really know how to explain it. but they will never know what it is like, because they haven't tried it. I have to say, that online school gets very, very boring and you might grow away from your friends bbecause while you are at home they are at school and they are meeting new people and having their own silly drama.
good luck(:

Throughout this course you will learn concepts that range in scope from beginner photography all the way to advanced topics in post production, composition, and light. https://tr.im/D6tHO
You can start right now. Like right this very moment! The course is all online. There are no deadlines or timelines for you to follow. Set your own pace! Go slowly through the course or blaze through it.
I did K12 through a secound party (LVS- they use k12 as their format) sooooo...
1. I live 30 minutes from the base of the second party, like a lot of students, so we do field trips, prom, and graduation so you can meet them but not in a class.
2. I find it less challenging :( but you can choose for your self... Go to k12.com and they have free lesson plans.
3. If you are transferring from your public school they just look at your records.
4. I transferred because of the set up of normal school (teachers belittled me, other students interrupting class, other students talking trash about me behind my back) so I find it much better.
5. Yes. You can get on at 5am, noon, 3. There are days that have mandatory log on days, but only a few a year. The part I love, when your done with all your assignments your done for the day, no filler.
6. I have shitty friends who ignore me, but my best friend was heart broken but we still hang out a lot. Make sure to carve out time for your friends.
