Please help this hopeless school mom buy the right materials my daughter will need for kindergarten, before everything is sold out or off sale. Orientation is held the night before school. Talk about last minute. I don't want to wait that long.

You are not hopeless. You are organized and doing the right thing because you are on top of the situation.
You could check the school's website and see if they have the list online.
It won't be too terrible, the supplies are usually pretty general. here are some suggestions:
package of #2 pencils, sharpened in advance
4-6 gluesticks
box of 24 crayons
box of kleenex
headphones
art shirt
bookbag
you could also send: container of Clorox wipes, and antibacterial hand wipes
Lots of times the teacher has you bring things in and the whole class will use them throughout the year- such as the kleenex. She will open a box or two of kleenex and set them around the room, and keep the rest in the closet to use later. The students generally don't have room to keep bulky things like a box of kleenex.
Let me give you this hint way in advance- at Christmas time, when you need a teacher gift, give her a gift card from Target or Wal-mart. Don't spend money on some silly candle or ornament. Teachers can use gift cards to practical stores, and they love them. Any amount is ok.
Call or email the teacher.
However, I have found that most Kindergartens usually do the "community" thing and share their supplies. My son was required to bring his own backpack but that was the only "requirement". They asked for donations of kleenex and etc.
there should be a list at the local stores or even walmart! you should check there as well as call the school to see if you can pick a list up frtom them
