LAPD Officer patrols?
Does the LAPD still have cops walk the beat? Throughout the numerous times I've been to LA I have never seen a foot patrol police officer. I'm wondering because I plan on joining the LAPD in a few years and I would rather be outdoors than inside a car. Thanks.

They still have some foot beats, not many.
Not your choice anyway. You need lots of seniority to get most of the limitied foot beats.
All of the city beats have to park and do foot patrol in certain areas of their beats daily.
