I took my kids, and they were just slightly older than yours, and I've also gone with just my husband and I. There is a lot to see in Las Vegas, just not a lot to do (for kids). We made sure they saw the Bellagio Fountains, MGM lions, shopping at Venice and at Ceasars Palace, the pirate show at Treasure Island, etc. We also rented a car and drove to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam (overnight). Forget the advice about Circus Circus; it's a dump. Go instead to Excalibur, which is fairly kid friendly (little free shows, good pool, etc.). What it came down to is this: yes, the kids were entertained, but it wasn't the same trip for us. It's a fantastic place to reignite some romance and fun with your spouse and enjoy being an adult. I guess if you are only going to Vegas once, leave the kids and let them go on their own when they are grown up. If you think you'll have the opportunity to go a couple of times, then go ahead and take them.

Leave 'em home. There is some stuff to do for their age, but not enough to sustain an entire vacation that's longer than 3 days. Las Vegas is not really a city for children - just based on the sheer volume of people there. Most kids would get lost in the shuffle or stepped on or worse. (would you want a drunk stumbling around and colliding with your child?) But aside from that - most shows don't welcome small children, the noise can be scary to them. March might still be too chilly for the pool too.

Besides - grown-ups need a little "grown up" fun too!! =) I think that in order to partake of ALL that Vegas has to offer (the shows, the restaurants, the nightlife, the casinos) it should be a trip where the kids visit Grandma and Grandpa. =)

If it were just yourself and your children, there should be no problem taking the children. There is plenty to see while you are here and if you stay at a property ( usually right off the strip ) that has a Kids Quest, you could have some time for yourself as well. Kids Quest is just like a High Tech McDonalds playland. There are I think 3 hotels that are around the strip that offer this, one is South Point ( Kids Tyme http://www.southpointcasino.com/hotel/kids-tyme.ph... ), the Orleans Hotel and Caisno ( Kids Tyme http://www.orleanscasino.com/hotel/kids-tyme.html ) Or Palms Hotel and Casino ( Kids Quest http://www.kidsquest.com/kqcenter.php?id=13). This service does cost, but will give you some "me" time to gamble or do whatever it is you would like to do. Check to see if you need to bring their shot record with for Kids Quest / Kids Tyme, sometimes if you are a guest at the hotel they do not require this, but I would double check. But like others said there is plenty to do with the children here, Mandalay Bay Shark Reef, Circus Circus Adventure Dome, Visit the downtown area and see the Fremont Street Experience ( the canopy of lights ) a different show every hour. I know my kids love watching that from time to time. The show at Treasure Island ( pirate show ) The Mirage ( the volcano ) or Secret Garden ( Mirgae has a charge ) , The Bellagio ( the dancing fountains ). Alot of people say that Las Vegas is not for children but ther are families that live here and there is plenty to do here, sometimes you just have to look for it. I hope this information helps.

If you want to experience Las Vegas on your own, don't bring the kids, unless you don't mind sacrificing some time for you kids (well, unless you like arcades and stuff like that).

If you bring your kids, take them to Circus Circus where there's the Adventuredome, free circus acts, and fun tossing games. You can go to Mandalay Bay shark habitat or the animals at the Mirage.

Outside the park there's Red Rock Canyon a few miles away, if they're more on the nature side. A nice change of pace from Las Vegas.

Vegas was a stable place for families. That lasted a pair of million twelve months. easily, Vegas isn't a stable place for little ones. There are some issues - Circus Circus has an entertainment park and circus acts, and there's a Ocean Spray museum or some thing in Henderson, this is now area of Vegas for the main area. Be arranged for an excellent variety of billboards that are very suggestive, everywhere from taxis to storefronts to warning signs. in case you walk the strip, be arranged for the pornographic textile this is surpassed out and scattered everywhere. there's a calming curler coaster at manhattan manhattan and an arcade too.

Las Vegas is really a city for adults. However, there are plenty of things to do with children. There is always Circus Circus. The Adventure Dome that they have is a lot of fun. You can also find things for them to do at Treasure Island and The Luxor. The Luxor has a really fun 3D movie about a pirate. A couple of other places to take them are Game Works and The World of M&M's.

circus circus is probably the only place for the kids to have fun but thats if they like rides and games.. Theres the circus circus adventure dome and it has a rollercoaster and rides and above that they have an arcade like huge so they could have fun but they are kind of young if you just want to go and have fun i wouldn't take them and if you like it you could check out places and take the kids next time.. I've lived in vegas and supposebly in 09 the water park might open back up. So theres nothing really for kids mainly not that young

I'd suggest not taking the kids - even though there would be things for them to do with you. more relaxing - less entertaining...If you choose to bring them - here are some free things to do:

I was just there - the only sleezy thing I saw that I wouldn't want my kids to see - is the stripjoint cards they try to pass out on the strip- which are all over the streets - just be prepared for tonz of people trying to hand them to you. (ignore)..

and, if your kids hate to walk - it wouldn't be for them - vegas is definately a 'walking town'.

bringing them would be fine - not bringing them would be more relaxing.

I didn't see much to do with the boys there (2 and 6) as there were so many things I would NOT want my child to see, just walking up the strip....

Next time will be Disney for them!

I wouldn't take them. We didn't take our children, and we were glad for it. It was very hot (we were there in early May) and there really wasn't a lot for them to do.

If you do take them, they'd like Circus Circus. There is also a really neat dolphin habitat and big cat exhibit at the Mirage, and I think the kids would like that. The shark reef at Mandalay Bay is supposed to be cool, and the lion habitat at MGM is nice. But you could do all of that in one day, and there really isn't much else for the kids to do.
