License plates under friends name?
My friend gave me a car and the car is under my name. The license plate is under her name registered both in Miami and NY. I went to the DMV to get my own plate and they said she has to cancel the one from NY. Now, her husband is not allowing her to because he wasn't happy she gave me the car. How can I get my own license plate?
Update:I live in Miami and she moved to NY.

Yep just tell them the people that you got the car from toke the plates when they gave you the car and they moved to New York. they have to give you a plate if you have all the paper work in order.
Tell the DMV the car didnt have a tag on it when you bought it.
