max payne 2 disc on windows 8?
i got max payne 2 on disc, it installed and does not run on my windows 8 laptop. when installed and run in compatibility mode for windows xp, the preferred os, it still does not even boot. the screen comes up to play, uninstall, and links to their website, but when i click play it always jsut stops. i installed the patch by rockstar, and still it fails to run.
how can i get this thing to run,
there is no cd key.

Okay, this may or may not be a little difficult.
But Max Payne 2 is not compatible with Windows 8, EVER, I've noticed.
Download Oracle VM VirtualBox
Then go to ThePirateBay.sx (Type it in just like that)
And search for a Windows XP operating system.
There are videos that can guide you through setting up the Windows XP
It's like a virtual computer inside your computer and it works SO WELL. :D

This download is the second release of the Max Payne saga. In Max Payne 2 the storyline has changed a bit: your character wakes up in a hospital being quite wounded, and immediately after he is discharged, he is attacked again and a friend of him is being shot too.
there is a modified launcher file that may solve your problem, it should launch the game on newer systems. this is a no-cd exe file for the game, version 1.01 should work fine.
