I recently became a big fan of Skip James music. He's very different from other blues artist. His songs are very droned and minor. I like Jack Owens as well.
Skip wasn't your typical Delta Blues singer. Maybe try some Blind Blake, Charley Patton, Blind Boy Fuller, Mississippi Fred McDowell, RL Burnside and Junior Kimbrough (most of whom weren't necessarily "Delta"). Maybe even try some of Blind Willie McTell's less "Ragtimey" stuff. Start hanging out in here and you'll hear some great stuff.
