ok, my friend has been trying to get preg for 9 yrs and has PCOS. in dec. she got pg but miscarried in jan. now she found out she is 6 weeks preg now and the dr wants to take her off the glucophage. the research we have done shows that it will reduce miscarriages if she stays on it till 13 weeks. anyone had any similar situations, or any drs recommendations??

It's a difficult subject. you know some research says 13weeks? Because it has been known to cause harm to fetuses. And, I'm sure you know that not all pregnancies/babies are the same when it comes to developing. So, some doctors just tell their patients to stop immediately, and not risk it at all. And, some tell them to continue for a while. When I got pregnant, my doctor told me to stop immediately, and if I developed gestational diabetes they could put me on insulin for a while. I decided not to have the baby, so it didn't matter anyway. But, I'd of listened to the doctor had I continued with the pregnancy.
