Im 17, and want to go do karaoke in the bar where my boyfriend works on fridays. Im not drinking, and theres witnesses to that, and i know all the waitresses, bartenders, and people that work there, and they know im not drinking or anything.
What is the legal age where you can be in a bar, in michigan, after 9, if it is also a restaurant, on a night that they are doing a special event like karaoke? I think that it is 18, and i will be 18 in april, but i want to know for sure. Does anyone know for 100% sure? If so, please provide a link, or proof, that it is really the law so i know for sure. Thanks!!

You will have to ask the specific bar as there is not set regulation for this from the sounds of the type of establishment. IF it is a restaurant that serves food to families and not just a bar, they might allow people underage in after 9 pm, but it if strictly a bar at any given time, then it would either be 18 or 21 depending on the business.
Unless the serve food I would guess not. Usually local ordinance covers this but most require 18 or older.
