Generally, any GPA less than 3.0 suggests difficulty with college work. This is not a universal rule, however. A lot of the value of your GPA depends on the courses that you completed - what is called "course rigor." What is a 2.9 from one rigorous high school may be a 4.0 at a lesser school.
