I have minecraft on 2 computers
1: A Pentium D dual core overclocked to 3.4 GHz with 8 gigs of DDR 3 ram and a PNY veto graphics card with a nvidia GT 240 and a gig of virtual memory.
It runs 64 bit windows and a 32 bit Java, but through experience that is not the main problem.
I get around 12 fps and constant stops and even freezes with it. Remember , this is at Minimal settings. I have also tried opti-fine, but even with that it is slow.
2: A Toshiba laptop with an Intel Centrino at 1.5 GHz with 1 gb of DDR ram. The graphics card is my least favorite of all time, a Intel extreme graphics card, with only 128 megabytes of memory. It runs windows xp home (the other computer runs seven) with at least 6 years of crud running in the background.
It runs minecraft at 30 fps, at all times (minimal settings) with some drops to 25 every now and then.
Any suggestions?
Hopefully I can fix the Pentium D computer because it runs games like team fortress two and Driver San Francisco at smooth frame rates, while the laptop crashes trying to open up the menu to Steam.
