I had a m/c on November 24. On Monday, the 14th of December I went in and had blood work done it see where my HCG levels were. The nurse called today the 16th and said that they were a 6. I am not sure what this means. I have no clue what they were before I had the m/c. Does anyone know what a 6 would mean? Thanks :)

I'm sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. I had a miscarriage on Nov. 14th. Just 8 days before my m/c, my levels were at 60. The ER, the night of my m/c, said they were at 35. Three days later, my ob said they were 4. I was 7 1/2 weeks and it was a blighted ovum (everything but the baby was forming).
The level of HCG indicates where you are in the pregnancy. A level 6 means that your levels are going down and getting back to 0, where they should be for a non-pregnant woman. The levels rise and fall at different paces for every woman.
Edit: The ob didn't know why my levels were so low to begin with. She thought I would have naturally low levels. She then said in hindsight she should have realized that this pregnancy wasn't going to make it.
If you did not have any clots then I could simply say its usual recognizing that a few persons get. Are you definite your five weeks and no longer five weeks out of your final interval? You must have a progesterone stage of 12 to preserve the being pregnant. So your Dr would possibly supply you a few dietary supplements to take or the vaginal ones to insert two times an afternoon till your 12 weeks. However, if you're five weeks pregnant then eighty two is beautiful low for a being pregnant that a long way alongside. Its think to double daily or each different day. Do you realize what your numbers have been earlier than you began recognizing? I could name again and ask to talk to the Dr and notice what he says because he/she has the numbers out of your final blood paintings. I recognise that nobody desires to listen to that's feels like a miscarriage however you did not have any clots then I would not anticipate it to be a miscarriage. Normally a miscarriage at five weeks you have got alot of bleeding and clots. Along with beautiful painful cramps. However, your numbers look low. Also you can also desire to invite the Dr for a ultrasound or move to the ER and request a ultrasound so they are able to see whats occurring in there and in case your having a miscarriage however your frame hasn't completed discharging the little one you must recognise so they are able to care for that. Sorry to listen to approximately this and your final miscarriage.
HCG levels double daily and would be in the 1000s probably by the time you had a miscarriage. (I'm just assuming since you don't say how far along you were at the time of the miscarriage)
If the levels are at 6 then they're dropping normally and are almost down to 0.
Most women can expect their levels to return to a non-pregnant range about 4 - 6 weeks after a pregnancy loss has occurred. This can differentiate by how the loss occurred (spontaneous miscarriage, D & C procedure, abortion, natural delivery) and how high the levels were at the time of the loss. Health care providers usually will continue to test hCG levels after a pregnancy loss to ensure they return back to <5.0
6 is very low which is normal. It means the pregnancy hormones are going away.
It either means your levels are dropping "slowly" or you could possibly be pregnant again.
