my doctor told me to wait one full cycle and then I was free to try again. I think it depends on how far along you were because if you need a D&C you might have to wait longer. I was only 5 weeks.
Only you and your partner can determine the right time to try to conceive again because the feeling of loss after a miscarriage can be very profound.
The mourning process can include many different feelings, so it is essential to allow yourself and your partner enough time to fully grieve. Make sure that you are both physically and emotionally ready to become pregnant again. You'll also want to allow those closest to you to offer their comfort and support.
Normally, following an uncomplicated miscarriage and D&C, most healthy women will resume their period within four to six weeks. It is advisable to wait at least one or two cycles after a D&C to ensure that the endometrium (lining of the uterus) has returned to a healthy state and is able to support a new pregnancy. Your doctor may also want to see you a few weeks after your D&C to check on your recovery. At that point, you should speak with your provider about your plans for a subsequent pregnancy and the optimal time to begin trying again.
Fortunately, after a single miscarriage, your chances of having a successful pregnancy are very high. Most miscarriages occur prior to 13 weeks of gestation and are caused by abnormal chromosomes in the developing fetus.
But if you have experienced repeated miscarriages, there may be a different underlying cause such as a medical condition or a structural problem with the uterus. If this is the case, then your physician may advise a consultation with either a reproductive endocrinologist or an obstetrician who specializes in high-risk pregnancies
You are supposed to wait 2 normal menstrual cycles before getting pregnant again. That said, I had a m/c last April and was pregnant again in July. Good luck!! =).
most doctors will tell u to wait at least 3 cycles to allow ur body and ur heart time to heal. u need to allow ur cycle enough time to get back normal and ur cervix and uterus to go back down as well. although there is no set or direct time frame, just allow urself time to cope and be able to deal with what u went thru..i would say wait at least 2 months tho just to get ur hormone levels and everything back to normal
you "think" you did? I would find out for sure. Waiting on when to get pregnant again depends on how far along you were in your pregnancy and your mental health after it. Please talk to your OBGYN.
