im having a problem with my windows xp. there is no sound and when i try to adjust the sound this pops up>>There are no active mixer devices available<<< i need help :(

I have a similar problem....my audio properties just go away. It started happening after a recent windows update. I have to go to control panel...administrative tools...services...scroll down to and click on windows audio....right click on it and select start.
