Well, she is 2 1/2 years old and before she was talking perfectly fine, but the past about 2 months she's been stuttering alot. sometimes for up to 30 seconds before she can say what she wants. What could this be? And if I should ask this question in a different category, let me know. Thanks!

People stutter because they are nervous about what they were going to say. It can be cured by a speech therapist. I used to stutter when I was a young child but my parents took me over to a speech therapist once a week and a year or so later I spoke fluently, though here and there I may stutter, which is normal in everyone. Some people have no idea what they want to say that causes them to stutter and stop and giggle embarrassed but there is not need. Good luck.
It could be a nervous problem or a speech impediment. I wouldn't think that it would be Asperger's syndrome, because the symptoms aren't obvious until the age of three or four. I really think that it's a speech impediment. You should be patient, and you should not criticize her.
The Stuttering Foundation has great information for parents when a child starts stuttering.
Amanda, it could be a nervous condition. Never critisize her.Maybe you should talk to your parents and or a speech therapist. It can be corrected.
