My bestfriends grandma is down to 3 breaths a minute and I don't know what to say to my friend. My grandma died about a year and a half ago and she didn't know what to say to me either. Noone ever knows what to say...but I want to know what to say for once. Any ideas? I don't want to end up saying cliche things like "I'm sorry", or "she's in a better place" or anything like that. I know when my grandma died it started to get under my skin.. I'm always around her (seriously 24/7) so I don't want to say the wrong thing and upset her or make her cry..I want to make her laugh or smile..be happy.

Shes going to cry dont feel responsible for that. But u seem like u know her well and must have spent time with her grandma too... Bring happy memories involving her grandma to make her smile laugh or even cry. Ask her to tell u stories about her. Its harder for her to cry if shes talking, but crying is normal and almost necessary at a time like that... Sometimes its best to just be there to let her cry on your shoulder, to hug or just keep her company and let her know shes not alone
You don't have to say anything, if she wants to talk about her grandma be open to that, though.
Just say I love you and I'm here for you.
No offense but its grandparents not your parents so it shouldn't be that touchy a subject. At least you didn't lose your mother....
Mine?
