My daughter has had this horrible rash for months now!! The doctors have given her prescribed medication for it. I have also tried tons of stuff, A&d ointment, Johnson baby rash cream, etc. Then it started to itch. Found out it was a yeast infection. Got that to go away. Then not even a week later the damn rash was back. But this time it is super itchy!!!! Well I changed diapers to see if that worked!!! It did! She was allergic to the off brand diapers. I now buy her LUVS. The rash went away. Right now she has just a normal diaper rash that is going away, but she still itches...any suggestions?

If the once severe diaper rash is going away, the itching may be part of the healing process. Have you tried zinc oxide? If it doesn't seem to get better, as far as the itching goes, take her to an allergy specialist. Is the itching on her bottom or in her front? If it is in her front, just have the pediatrician take another look at it, just to make sure the yeat infection isn't coming back. Hope things get better for your little girl :-)
This is an old wives tale but it really works!
Get a cast iron skillet (must be cast iron) and brown some plain white flour in it.
Each diaper change sprinkle a little flour on as if it were baby powder! The rash will go away and ease the itch.
I agree air is the best way to heal the rash. Since My son was born I always let him sit for a bit with his diaper off. (He loves it) But he hasnt had any type of diaper rash at all. GoodLuck.
She needs lots of air and I found when I used cloth diapers the rash went away quicker. Now I use mostly cloth.
This cream is the best. Ask your dermatologist and he will even tell you. its called "Laroche-posay lipikar baume" I love it so much it worked for my baby of 7 months old and my niece is 5 months and had a bad diaper rash for 3 weeks. nothing was helping. and this cream helped in just one day. and the good thing about this is that it has multi purposes you can even use it on her skin and your skin. hope this helps. here is the website
The best thing for a diaper rash is to let as much air as possible get to it. Air is the best healer. After a diaper change just let your little one rome around naked for a little while.
As much air as you can let get to it the better.
Try use Starch to apply like powder. It's good when I tried my daughter.
