My kitten is about 2-2.5 months old. He likes to sleep in the couch where there's a tear in the back cushion. He rolled out of the couch and was shaking. No one sits where he likes to sleep since we don't want to hurt him. He's shaking and walking like a drunk. There was a fly buzzing around but he couldn't seem to keep his attention focused on it. He has had an eye cold for a few days. I fed him some canned cat food today and his eye was looking much better today. I also gave him a very small amount of tuna fish this evening as a treat. This just happened within a few minutes ago so I can't take him to a vet or else I would.

Actually, my sister just adopted a kitten from the APL. They gave her a list of instruction on how to take care of her kitten. One thing on the list that I was shocked about was...."not to feed a cat tuna". I know your probably thinking like "what is she talking about". But it said that tuna has some sort of mercury in some of the cans or something like that.
I never knew that because we have had another cat of ours for about 8 years, and we use to feed her tuna all the time. But they said it something in the tuna and to not feed your cats that.
Your cat doesn't have an eye cold. Cats don't get colds. He very likely has an upper respiratory infection, which can be deadly to young kittens and requires antibiotics to treat.
Secondly, read this, as this is very possible.
Cerebellar Hypoplasia is a defect in the brain of young
kittens that results in a loss of fine motor coordination.
The condition is caused when a kitten is infected with
the feline distemper virus in utero or shortly after
birth. Vaccination against distemper during pregnancy
can also cause this disease.
Kittens affected with CH may not grow as large as
normal kittens. When a cat has CH, the cerebellum
area of the brain is affected, an area involved in fine
motor control. Typical symptoms are poor coordination,
gait abnormalities and tremors. Affected cats are
wobbly on their feet and have distinctive head tremors,
especially when they try to focus on an object. A
CH kitten's gait frequently appears as if her head is
going in one direction while her back end is trying to
go elsewhere.
CH kittens learn to compensate for their disabilities
and adapt to the challenges of everyday life.
Dont stress it, man. The kittens young. That means weak immune system. Its probably just a cold. My kitten had the same problem. its normal.
