I think the problem is that you need a new graphic card. Vista takes up a lot of your graphics card, so theres no room left for sims, which also takes up a lot of your graphics card. Buy a new graphics card!
Good Luck!
If everything turns see through with little dashes and only looks normal when you're moving around then you can try going to your graphics option (the little computer screen) and scrolling the "Smooth Edges" bar so that it's all the way at the bottom.
If the walls are flashing red and black and whatever other color then it is a graphics card problem. You might need a new one, but try upgrading the one that you have to the latest version first.
Good Luck
Graphics card shouldn't be the problem. I have vista and I have all the sims 2 games on my computer and they run fine. Try to uninstall/ reinstall, and if that doesn't work go into the game options and find the "detect best settings for my PC" button. If none of this works, contact me. I can help you if you want to try and get a better graphics card.
Its not vista, because Sims 2 is vista compatible
its definitely ur video card, try upgrading
red/blue/black screen only occurs when your video card isn't good enough to support the Sims 2, and the blue/red/black screen occurs usually more often when you install more expansion packs
hmm, did you try uninstalling it on the windows xp?
