No 'Mental Ray' option in Autodesk Maya 2014 Render Settings?
Hi, I'm a beginner to Maya and I'm currently using Maya 2014. In the menu 'Render using' in Render Settings, I can't find Mental Ray, there are only Maya Software, Maya Hardware, Maya Hardware 2.0 and Maya Vector. But when I installed Maya 2013, there is Mental Ray in the Render Settings. Why is this?

MR is no longer part of the Maya package as of Maya 2014. Yoou will have to go and install the standalone plugin. It's kind of dumb if you ask me though. MR has been part of the Autodesk package for years. I don't know why they took it out when it's been part of their system for years. You can get more info at this blog post.
