Well I have a cruise booked in August on the ship mentioned above. I do alot of buisness so I want to keep in touch. Do you happen to know how much they charge for internet. If its free I will be shocked like nothing you have ever seen.
Second question, can I use my psp to get free wi-fi on the ship. I dont think so becuase of security in the connection, but hey Id rather be sure.

I have cruised on the Spirit and many other NCL and other cruise lines. They all pretty much do have internet service now but it is NOT free and IS very expensive. In general the price will be about $1.00 a minute and you can buy packages that will reduce that price to maybe $.50. to $.60 cents a minute. The packages will be approximately $50 and up depending upon the number of minutes you want to buy.
On ships that have wifi they generally have "hot spots" where you can get connected and you can use your own laptop or rent one.
I always recommend to people to skip the on ship internet, unless its an emergency (or in your case a business) because its very expensive and also because I have found that the connection speed when the ship is moving is very poor many times. There are exceptions, but if the ship is moving its hard to keep connected to the satellite system. Moreover, its a lot cheaper to just find an internet cafe in a port stop. I have cruised all over from Europe, to Alaska, South AMerica, the Caribbean and Mexico and have almost always been able to find an internet cafe at the port city. Some times the internet is available in the port's terminal, other times its a few blocks from the port in town. The prices are ALWAYS much better than on ship, maybe $5 to $7 an hour, many times less. and with good equipment and connection speeds.
Just ask your cabin steward and/or waiter, or other crew members where the internet is. They know because they usually go find it to connect with home.
In general the cruise lines charge around 60c-75c a minute for internet access. The price goes down to about 40c if you buy a package.
It's pricey because the connection is via satellite, which also means it's s-l-ooooooo-w.
As for the PSP, you might be able to connect, but it won't be free. Wi-fi is generally the same price as the terminals.
I found the cheapest approach was to bring my laptop and synch Outlook once a day, in the middle of the night (fewer users = faster connection). Or go to internet cafes when you're in port.
