I ride dressage and I'm just starting to get the equipment and clothing. I am getting breeches half chaps probably, but I don't know which brand to get. I saw the ariat paddock boots are now $39.00, which is a good price, but I read the reveiws and everyone said that they are very poorly made. I want something that is comfortable (for a paddock boot) and will last me five or so years.
Also, are there any holiday sales going on for breeches right now? I few pairs that are durable at a decent price.
Thanks!

i would reccomend ariat breeze paddock boot. they are expensive- upwards of 100$- but they are totally worth it. they're made of a supple leather (which is washable with just warm, mildly sudsy water), you can get them in lace up or zipper. they have the 4 layer sole, so they're super comfortable. i've had mine for about 6 months, but my other ariats that i own (a pair of ropers) i've owned for 7 years, and they're still in great shape. i strongly reccomend ariat brand.

this is my boot. i love it.
however, i would NOT reccomend the Perri's brand. they fall apart very quickly. i had a pair of paddock boots for 4 months, and they were cracked. awful quality.
I think Ariat is the most amazing brand I'll ever find. When I went out to college I did some shopping to find some things that would last me my 4 years on the college riding team. 900 dollar tall boots, 200 dollar paddock boots, 150 dollar half chaps, 130 dollar riding breeches and 40 dollar polos later I found everything I needed. And still everything is going strong.
A pair of Ariat boots will last you A LONG TIME. Be sure to try on a pair though, because most brands have different sizes(like for example, I wear a nine in Saxon boots, but a 9 1/2 in Ariats or something like that)
Ariat is a good brand, and another good one is Dublin.
For breeches, get some cheap pull-on ones for everyday use. You should be able to find them in the $30 - $35 range. I have some that I've had for years.
WEll, I have Ariats and I will NEVER change. They are so well made and really give you support.
kiss me i'm an equestrian : First off, love the name. hahaa. And she's right. I had Saxon boots.. wow they were soo uncomfortible and crappy! lolz
whatever you buy, DONT GET ANYTHING FROM SAXON!! there stuff falls apart fast
