I have had a persistent irritation in my lower right abdomen. There is no visible problem that I have there nor is their a pain that occurs when I touch the spot with irritation. Weirdest of all this problem is caused when I sleep on my back or on my sides, so I have started to sleep exclusively on my stomach or mostly on it. I'm scared that this might be something much worse than just a slight irritation. Any "medical" advice would be good. Thanks.
Update:Definitely not kidney problems it's in the front.
I was worried about a hernia but I don't see how it could be that, and wouldn't it be noticeable like by touch or sight.

Kidney problems from diabetes. Avoid sugar. Get tested.
Could be a hernia or a torn abdominal muscle, also could be a host of other things, these are just the most likely, get it checked out by your physician. This is not your kidneys as they are not located in your abdominal cavity.
