I'm afraid that really is a "How long is a piece of string" kind of question, as there are several possibilities.
1. You could have damaged an intercostal muscle, one of several muscles that form the chest wall between the ribs.
2. It could be a problem with your liver, although it's not likely.
3. You may have gall stones, or an inflamed gall bladder.
4. Trapped wind can be long lasting, very painful and nothing to giggle at.
5. You may have some kind of inflammatory bowel issue.
It would be useful to know if you have secondary symptoms, but more useful to visit your GP and have them check you out. Blood tests will show liver problems and an ultrasound can identify gall bladder/gall stones issues. Inflammatory bowel problems usually require an endoscopy or MRI to locate the problem, but it's better an expert sees you.
You could be having just gas pains, or Gall Bladder. I had gall stones and I started having pains there. I had to have my gall bladder removed, now your pancreas also is there, that is the organ that makes your sugar, diabetics get problems there. but if it's your gall bladder, raw vegetables especially salads and pickles and cabbage will start these pains up, so bad you will end up in the ER.
