Back when I was 18 I was diagnosed with patellar tracking disorder, or that my kneecap didn't track properly in the groove. I'd had a history growing up of weak knees (dislocated my left when I was in 4th grade, my right when I was in 6th) but haven't had any problems with knee pain or otherwise since adulthood. The physical therapist I went to prescribed some exercises that could help cure it and frankly I've never needed to go to the doctor for it since then. Well now, some years down the road, I'm looking into joining the military and have been trying to find whether this will disqualify me. I remember asking the physician way back when if I had chondromalacia or Osgood Schlatters and according to my x-rays they said no. Would a history of patellar tracking disorder (they promised me it could be cured by strengthing the inner thigh muscle that pulls the kneecap inward) years ago DQ me when going through MEPS?

Talk to your recruiter about a wavier. The disorder you have can disqualify you if you do not get everything set up right with medical paperwork. But, just ask about waivers and see what you can get set up before making a decision to go to MEPS.
