Hi Music man.
1 - Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
Led Zeppelin (Joan Baez's makes my ears bleed).
2 - Damonds and Rust
Blackmore's Night (wow).
3 - I'm a Man
Spencer Davis Group (had more of both energy and feeling).
4 - Inside Looking Out
Grand Funk Railroad (close call, but I liked how this one never let up).
5 - Nutbush City Limits
I can't decide. I love both of these people and both versions.
Interesting questions, and some fine songs there Music Man, thanks.
Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Chicago, The Animals, Bob Seger
1.Led Zepplin
2.Judas Priest
3.Chicago
4.Grand Funk Railroad
5. Tina Turner
1.Led Zeppelin
2.Judas Priest
3.Spencer Davis Group
4.GFR
5.Bob Seger
1. Led Zeppelin (one of your's and my favorites)
2. Judas Priest, it was the fist one I heard and an improvement on Joan Baez's original
3. Chicago
4. The Animals
5. I really like Bob Seger so I would choose his.
1) Led Zeppelin.
2) Both are very good...but Judas Priest wins.
3) Both are great...but I've always loved that debut 'Chicago Transit Authority' album, and that version of the song wins.
4) Wow...tough choice, as I've always loved both. But the GFR cover wins for me these days. Had you asked this 40 years ago, I would have probably gone with the original by The Animals ;)
5) Not a big fan of any of Bob's "Silver Bullet" era releases, and I've never cared much for Tina either. Though in this case I guess Bob wins!
Good evening Mike :)
1) Led Zeppelin
2) Blackmore's Night {I don't like the original, and JP just don't have it for me}.
* and there is something in Candice's voice, towards the end...
3) Spencer Davis Group
4) never heard this before... Grand Funk Railroad
5) Tina Turner

@ Lord Frieza :
Yes! One more BN fan in R&P = that makes about 7 of us!
* Having got a 'hits' album for Deep Purple, I knew about 4 songs, then came across Blackmore's Night {because I like the artist Johanna Pieterman, who drew two of their album covers} and was led by them into DP and Rainbow. I can't get why people think Ritchie has 'sold out' - he himself says he's now playing the sort of music he's always loved, and they do 'Rock' when they want to. Surely, if a musician isn't happy about what they're playing, that will come across in the music just as it does when they're really into it - what would people rather have...?!
