If you mean little Johnny being able to fall to his knees in prayer before a test because he didn't study, I'm all for it.
If you mean having to say the Pledge of Alligiance with "under God" in it, then I say, No.
If a student wants to pray in their school and if it's on their own time or isn't disruptive to the learning environment, it should be allowed. We should maintain our freedom of expression.
yes, lead by students, not teachers, and as long as it doesnt get in the way of learning. there is supposed to be freedom of religion anyways. Kids can pray all day at school if they want anyways. out-loud group prayers arent needed and are actually discouraged, according to Jesus
No, because teachers are supposed to be neutral. Teachers, kind of like journalist, are only supposed to present the students with facts and info, the students have to decide themselves how they interpret that information. When you have schools requiring students to pray then you are forcing them into a religion without letting them decide for themselves.
Btw... In many countries teacher are fired if they tell their students their political or religious views.
One of my math teachers said that prayer was "inappropriate". I didn't like her much. Students should be able to pray in class if they want to but there shouldn't be like a prayer hour.
school run prayer - no. it would not be possible to write a prayer that would not offend or discriminate. However, there is already silent private prayer in school. ask any student before finals
Chirch has prayer and schools are for getting you prepared for what awaits you in the world. So no prayer should not be forced into schools. If it was i would not pray.
You can pray all you want now. You just can't force anyone else to listen or be disruptive.
Besides, doing it publicly is something Jesus spoke against.
"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen."
Nope. We need to teach our kids reality. To 'pray' is to lend them false beliefs in a supernatural being. That sort of belief should not be part of school curricula.

It is a decision that should be left up to the students alone.
