I am 16 years old. I m 6feet and weigh 150. Yeh pretty skinny guy. I am taking weight training. I have class for 2 hours 2-3 times a week. I don't know what kind of protein choose like brand name and type. Will protein shake have any bad effect on me. if you don't think i should take protein shake give me a good reason. I max out on bench press 155, incline press 125, hang cleans 135, and parallel squat 185. I know its pretty low max. I am skinny and it takes a long time to show results. If i go to the store, will the guy help me pick out the right protein shake? What would u guys recommend on what type of shake i should take?

Get the cheapest whey protein mix. Any brand will do, because protein is protein. Don't worry about vitamins in the protein mix, just take a multivitamin. Don't worry about amino acids in the mix, because ALL protein contains plenty of amino acids. Don't worry about ANY marketing hype that says one type is better than another. It isn't true. I use GNC brand whey protein. It's cheap, it tastes good, and it's protein. That's all that matters.
Just take regular 100% whey protein
DONT let them convince you otherwise!!!
1) protein is good for you, you body needs it
2) protein is not a magical muscle builder, it just helps you replace your meals, and dont try to starve yourself, if you feel hungry either eat something or drink a shake
3) protein is most effective WITHIN a 30MIN period of after your workout
4) your 16 and your 6feet, dont worry about other peoples maxxes, its only ganna make you weaker if you think how much other people can do
5) only try to max out once a month after you go over 250lb on anything, its bad for your joints if you max out every week or so
6) getting stronger takes time, dont worry
7) try to limit yourself to 1 HOUR a day, and 4-5 times a week

I would eat a healthy diet and a balanced diet. Those shakes could have side effects. I would get something organic
whey protein. the first answer is a joke. theres no side effects at ALL.
get whey protein and drink it after u work out
.. get powder , and mix it with milk, it taste bad but trust me it works
