My driving permit has been expired for a couple months now (never bothered to renew it). I'm 20 (yes, that's sad) and the other night I drove my cousin home from a bar. I got pulled over and they found out my permit was expired. I wanted to explain that I was driving because my (21-year-old) cousin was drunk (and on a lot of drugs), but he's on probation so he told me not to say anything. If I explain this at my hearing (to hopefully avoid getting murdered for driving w/o a license) will he get in trouble?

O.ok. shall we attempt to form this mess out: earlier I initiate, allow me say that your corporation, boss, 'governor', line manager, or, 'gang carry close' (what's his call again; 'skinny Richard' or in spite of the truth that) isn't very positive. you've been led down the 'backyard course' and also you've my sympathy and information. Please keep in recommendations, that, the Police were in user-friendly words doing their pastime - a tricky one at that. a million. Your 'issue' (as alleged) is what's standard as; an "absolute offence." (Strict criminal duty.) that is the same as having lengthy exceeded by using a pink site visitors elementary. You both did, or, you probably did not. 2. You were sitting in the back of the wheel, in fee of a motor motor vehicle, in action, on; a public highway.. 3. I assure, that, through the time your "boss" grasps what's slowly unfolding round his ears, he will finally end up with a be certain like Jayne Mansfield!!!
You don't have to say "my cousin was so high that he couldn't drive" just say "my cousin was drinking and said he couldn't drive home. I tried calling my parents but couldn't get ahold of anyone, so I tried driving him home so that he didn't try driving. I just didn't want him to cause an accident and kill himself or someone else"
I've seen a judge let people off when they are doing something in good faith like that. Its not like you were going around cruising, getting high or drunk. You were just trying to get him home safely so that he did not get in the car and cause an accident.
He will not get in trouble. You will not get in trouble. It might save you court fees.
Gabe's suggestion is good BUT you still drove with an expired permit and that will get you fined and probably points on your license..
Doesn't excuse your not having a license.
Drunk or not, you didn't have license. Unless your cousin could have shown a bloody stump at the time, your excuse isn't getting you off.
Well good news, you won't be getting one for awhile.
Police can care less if you were driving your drunken drug using loser cousin home. They care about your permit being expired. Pay the fine.
You're guilty, regardless of your excuse.
I suggest talking to your attorney.
