I work in an inner city school and we have all kinds of little critters, including roaches in our school. Lately, I've been seeing roaches around my classroom. I let the janitor know and we put some traps down and they're having the exterminator come over Christmas break.
However, I'm worried about taking them home with me and infesting my house. I check my coat before I put it on everyday and I look to make sure nothing crawled into my work bag either. I do not put my bags on the floor and I hang my coat on the back of my desk chair.
But, I want to know if anyone has any suggestions for making sure I don't take any roaches home with me. If I did that, I'd be devastated! They're absolutely disgusting!

If you have a garage, leave your coat and work bag in the garage instead of bringing them into the house. Do this until the school has no more roaches.
If you don't have a garage, use the trunk of your car. Even if the roaches infest your car, they will die in the winter. They can't stand the cold.
Take a big plastic bag and twisty tie with you to school and store your stuff in that. It is easy to check the out side of the bag. Just make sure there are no holes. Roaches also climb very well.
Don't step on roaches either as they come pre-loaded with lots of eggs. A dinosaur booby trap.
Have a Great Thanksgiving.
Squash them like a bug
