schooling system in sydney?
hey guys m movin' to sydney from india with my two year old......can u give me an idea of the schooling system there?? at what age do school's start and are there any day care centers.incase i want to work??

at the age of about 4 you can put your child into preschool but before then you have options of daycare and playcenters etc. there are many in sydney suburbia and maybe your new work may offer some sort of service (some work places offer daycare aswell).
from about the year your child wants to turn 5 or 6 they can join primary school in their first year, kindergarten.
high school (secondary) starts in year 7 where the child is usually 12 or 13 years old. you can drop out in year 10 at the age of 15 or 16

well yepp there are lots of day care centres.
and pre school usually starts at around the age of 4, you go there for a couple of days a week.
in the year were you turn around 6 your start kindergarten in primary school,(mostly starts at 9am and ends at 3pm) and you stay in primary school until year 6 and in year 7 you start high school.
