Lately, after every time I've stood up, I've began to see spots and feel a little dizzy. I am not pregnant, so that has nothing to do with this. I've also lost about fifteen pounds within the last month, but I have been eating regularly and exercising. I'm starting to get really worried.

I get that as well. Although I haven't lost pounds like you.. wish I had though! Haha. It sounds like you don't have enough food in your system to keep you going, and your brain is somewhat like blacking out. You know how anorexic people seem to have no energy and will very easily faint? Seeing those spots and feeling dizzy is really the verge of fainting. And food is energy right? Try switching to healthy foods loaded with energy. Eat more carbs, complex carbs preferred. Carbs keep the longest lasting energy. And check; are you under weight? I would visit your doctor to make sure of all of this. You may need medication?
It's orthostatic hypotension, which is actually more common in younger people and the elderly than in middle age. When you stand, the blood vessels in your legs have to constrict to counteract the effect of gravity, and until you make the adjustment, the blood flow to the brain, now suddenly higher than the rest of you, is reduced. You can get up a little more slowly, and pumping the muscles in your legs with a few good contractions and stretches will help. If you have no medical problems and take no medications, it likely goes into the category of minor annoyances rather than anything important. If you're taking blood pressure medications or a list of other medications that can affect blood pressure, they may (or may not) need a little adjustment.
I have had the same experience and it usually means I've been siting/laying down for a while. Hope that helps. :)
